A Walk on the Beach

Casual family pictures at the beach, no matter where you call home!

Brian, Branson, and Luna had planned a short two-day trip to Wilmington. ZCC wanted to help them capture their first-ever professional family photos, so we watched the weather (since this time of year, North Carolina chooses winter or spring willy-nilly each day!) and picked the warmer afternoon for a short & sweet photo sesh.

Favorite Spot on Earth

When deciding on location, we offered up Katie's favorite spot in the world - Fort Fisher. Branson - a quieter, gentler soul - immediately brightened at that idea and said it was one of his very favorite places, too. It was kismet!

To start out, we began by the picturesque rocks, grateful for high tide which gave us some gorgeous sea spray in the background!

The Star of the Show

Y'all. Let's talk about this gorgeous girl. Luna is 130 lbs of SUGAR. She did so well listening to her dads and posing perfectly for every single shot. And the way her hair was blowing in the wind.... ah! Just precious!

The Framer

We made our way on to the beach and found a perfect high-tide sand plateau simply made for this moment.

Savoring the Moment

Brian & Branson took Luna for a little stroll. She was so sweet walking between them.

The Windswept Southern Live Oaks

To cap off the photo session, we meandered down to the famous Ft. Fisher live oaks. These trees are an incredible testament to the forces of nature and they are one of the most common suggestions for photo locations in the Cape Fear Region.

Final Family Shot

For the last family portrait, we framed the trio with the bonsai-like live oaks in the background pointing toward them. Though ZCC's calling card is color saturation in photos, we LOVED how the black and white version came out on this one. Which one is your favorite?!

Though it was short & sweet by design, this calm, leisurely family photo session embodied what Zen Coast Collective is all about: a zen, enjoyable snapshot of a family in a moment in time, just as they are.
